Robin May Rankin

September 28, 1934 — April 13, 2009

Robin, of Littleton, Colorado passed away April 13, 2009. She was born in Long Beach, California on September 28, 1934. Her parents were Robert and Hilda (Berg) Rankin. Robin spent most of her life in Southern California where she attended the University of California at Los Angeles. She was an elementary and high school teacher for many years. In her later years, Robin worked as an administrative assistant for the Newport Beach Public Library and retired after 16 years as a development coordinator in University Advancement with the University of California at Irvine. She moved from Irvine to Littleton in 2006. Robin loved her cat Dickens, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Littleton, had a very green thumb, enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, knitting and most of all watching her grandchildren play sports. Robin is survived by her son, Randy (Patti) Rankin; daughter, Jill (Kevin) Heringer; grandchildren, Jason (Megan), Krystal, Shelby, Diana, Lindsey, Cassie and Eric; and great-grandson, Cameron. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard. Rosary will be said Thursday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (just one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado 80122. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 24 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 6853 South Prince Street, in Littleton, Colorado 80120. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Robin's name to the Seeds of Hope Charitable Trust, 1300 Steele Street, Denver, Colorado 80210.
