Rodney Schmoyer Haas

Rodney "Mount man" Schmoyer Haas died September 17, 2023 of natural causes at his home in Evergreen, Colorado.  He was 93. Rod worked at Martin Marietta in the early day of computer programming.  He climbed 48 of the "fourteeners" in Colorado.  

Rod grew up near Pattstown, PA and attended Albright College where he met and married Helen Haas. They had three children, Elise, Joe and Jim.  Helen and Rod divorced after the children graduated, and then Rod married Dorothy Haas who had four children.  Still living are John, Lois and George.  Dorothy also worked at Martin Marietta.  Rod love the mountains of Colorado and continued to be interested in space flight and studies of the universe even after retiring.  He liked adventure.
