Rogers Austin Hauck

Rogers Austin Hauck, age 92, passed away on January 17, 2017. Rod was born September 1, 1924 in Tyler, Minnesota to Ruben and Mabel Hauck. He had 2 younger brothers, Dale and Don. Rod is survived by his his wife of 68 years; Ruth (92); his children, Rolf Hauck (Mary) in North Oaks, MN and Patsy Aronstein (Jim), in Denver; 6 grandchildren, Will, Tyler, Reid, Kari, Amy and Sarah and his brother, Dale. Rod grew up in rural Minnesota where he came to love the outdoors, sports and music and with his brothers became an Eagle Scout. Rod attended St. Olaf College in Northfield Minnesota where he met Ruth before enlisting in the Navy. He was stationed in Guam during the war years and returned to complete his education in Engineering and eventually Geology at the University of Colorado. Rod worked in the petroleum industry concentrating on domestic production. Highlights of his career include time spent in Iran before the revolution. In retirement, Rod enjoyed travel, reading, walking, music and of course engaging with his 6 grandchildren. His peaceable demeanor, quick wit and story-telling will be greatly missed by all. Services will be held Sunday, January 22 at 3:30 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to ""Touch '58"" Project at Augustana Lutheran Church, Denver Friends of Chamber Music or St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, SD.
