Ronald L. Barron

April 21, 1936 — May 26, 2011

Ronald Lee Barron was born April 21, 1936, in Packwood, Iowa, to Irene and Earl Barron. He was a graduate of Hedrick High School, Hedrick, Iowa. He joined the Air Force in 1958 and served one year in Korea. When he returned to the states he was stationed at George Air Force Base in California. After he moved to Colorado, he joined the Colorado Air National Guard and served a year in Vietnam. Fortunately he was able to finish his career and retired from Buckley ANG in 1994, after 36 total years in the military. He was very proud of his military service and was a very patriotic American. He was married to Sandra Emery also from Hedrick, Iowa for 40+ years and they spent these many wonderful years together. Ron loved to travel and have fun. Ron was a member of the Looking Glass Corvette Association and loved going on the wine trips as well as many other places with his friends. Ron passed away Thursday, May 25, 1911, at University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Center after sinus surgery and a lingering illness. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; a sister, Carolyn Malloy, Oskaloosa, Iowa; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Irene Barron as well as a brother, Steve Barron, Hiawatha, Iowa. A Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado 80014. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1000 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado 80014. Interment will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1:15 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80235.
