Ron Combs, 72, died after a long battle with heart disease on Saturday June 6th, 2015. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Ronald Combs was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 30th, 1942. He was raised on a tobacco farm in rural Kentucky. Ron joined the U.S. Air Force in August 1959 and served his country as an Air Policeman until July 1963. He was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona, Kindley AFB in Bermuda, and spent time at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. He married Nedra Inmon on September 25, 1963 in Springfield, Missouri. He and Nedra moved to Cow Springs, Arizona where they worked at a trading post on the Navajo Reservation until 1964. Their only child, Ron Jr., was born in 1964. The family then moved to Grand Junction, Colorado where Ron worked and learned to fly at Monarch Aviation. They then lived in Odessa, Texas from 1965-1968 where Ron began his first paid flying job with the Odessa Flying Service. Ron flew for Frontier Airlines from 1968-1986 as a First Officer and Captain on the Convair 580 and the Boeing 737. In 1984, Ron and family moved to Parker, Colorado where he lived for 31 years. Ron loved many things in life. He loved flying, sailboats, his motorcycle, and his many RV's. He also loved cars, especially anything built by Ford. He also owned horses for many years and greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. In his later years, one of his favorite spots was sitting in his recliner chair at home with the remote control in hand. He was a generous and kind man who never hesitated to tell his family and those around him that he loved them. He kept everyone laughing with his sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor. He shared his wonderful life with and is survived by his wife Nedra Combs; his son Ron Combs Jr. (R.E.) and his wife Dawn; granddaughter Bailey Carpenter and her husband Kenn; and grandson Gage Combs.
