Ronald Dale Dilling

Ronald Dale Dilling, 95, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016. He was born in Portland, Oregon on May 27, 1921 to Cecil and Mary Dilling. He was a resident of the Denver area for over 40 years. A memorial service for Ron will be held at 1:30pm on Friday December 30, 2016 at Brookdale Mountain View Community Center Room, 8101 E Mississippi Ave, Denver, CO 80247. Ron was a graduate of the University of Oregon and a World War II veteran, serving in the 99th Infantry Division and receiving the Bronze Star Medal. Following the war, he started a 40 year career with Crown Zellerbach, a paper manufacturer. Family was very important to Ron and he was a loving father to his four daughters. Also important to him was his church. He was a charter member of Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Greenwood Village, Colorado and helped start Covenant Cupboard in 1995, a food bank within his church that provides supplemental food assistance to those in Arapahoe County. It is the largest non-profit food distribution center in Arapahoe county, serving over 100 families in the Denver metropolitan area each week. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Gloria. He is survived by his daughters, Sue Walker of Fort Worth, TX, Anne Dutka and husband Luke of Brighton, Judy Winger and husband Tony of Littleton, Barbara Raley and husband Bennett of Centennial and by his grandchildren David, Emily, Deirdre, Brett, Ai Pei, Sara and Janna and five great grandchildren.
