Ronald G. Gutru

December 19, 1926 — April 13, 2017

Ronald G. Gutru, of Denver, and most recently of Plattsmouth, Nebraska died early Thursday, April 13th at the age of 90, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Known to friends and family as Ron, he was well known for his company Electric Power Equipment, his membership in Commerce City Rotary, the International Order of Rocky Mountain Goats, The American Legion, and the John Birch Society. He taught himself to play piano and loved to share the gift of music with everyone he met. Ron was born December 19, 1926 in Bradish, Nebraska. He proudly served in the United States Army as a First Sergeant from May, 1945 thru January, 1947 and then again from January, 1952 through July, 1957 as a First Lieutenant in the Army Corp of Engineers. He then Graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Morroni Gutru. Ron is survived by his three daughters, Sharon Gutru of Plattsmouth, NE, Diane (Mark) Ryan of Highlands Ranch, CO and Cecilia Schultz of Broomfield, CO. Ron has 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who all know for sure that their Grandpa loves them. In addition, he is survived by his brother Dick O. (Beverly) Gutru of Denver, CO and his sister Margaret A. (Duane) Williams, of Boise, Idaho, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017, 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday, April 21, 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM, followed by Mass, 10:00 AM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80246. Interment will be held Friday, April 21, 2017, 1:00 PM at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Army.
