Ronald Steven Pott

May 19, 1950 — February 24, 2011

Steve Pott, 60, of Littleton, entered into eternal life on February 24, 2011. Steve is the loving husband of Kerrie Pott; devoted father of Donna (Tom), Tim (Bridget), Jessie (Colby), Kaylee, and Dylan; and beloved ""Papa"" to Madison, Tommy and Kiley. He is also survived by his sisters Kathy (Bryan), Becky and Terri (Dave); brothers Rick (Jana), Dan (Russanna) and Shane (Tabi); Brad's wife Teresa; aunts Alice, Meg and Peggy; numerous nieces and nephews; and by many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Ron Pott, and his brother Brad Pott . A prominent custom homebuilder, Steve founded Summit Chalet in 1978 and is responsible for building numerous beautiful, quality homes in the Denver area. He has won distinguished awards through the years, including HBA Homebuilder of the Year and Best of Show at the Parade of Homes. Steve had a high sense of integrity and business ethics with his clients, a number of whom had Summit Chalet build more than one home for them. As one of his business associates noted, he ""was a shining beacon of integrity, refusing short term gain and sacrificing his own interest every time so that he could simply do what was right."" Steve attended Lincoln High School and Metro State College, and was a long-time member of the Homebuilders' Association and Pinehurst Country Club. An accomplished athlete, he climbed 48 of Colorado's ""fourteeners,"" and won many golf and tennis tournaments. A consummate sportsman, he was also an avid fisherman and a snowboarder, having changed from skiing to snowboarding in his 50's. Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, proud Father and unwavering friend. Steve will be remembered for his sense of humor and his great storytelling. The recalling of such stories brings smiles to our faces. He could be very funny, mostly poking fun at himself. During his barn-raising Steve dressed as an Amish ""Brother Able"" as he directed its construction. He has touched many lives, and his family, associates and friends have many, many wonderful memories. Steve had a loving, caring, compassionate nature and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2011, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m., both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011, 9:30 a.m., at Saint Mary Catholic Parish, 6853 South Prince Street, in Littleton, Colorado. Interment follows at Fairmount Cemetery, 430 South Quebec Street, in Denver, Colorado. Reception follows the Interment, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m., at Pinehurst Country Club, 6255 West Quincy Avenue, in Lakewood, Colorado.
