In Loving Memory of Lt. Commander Ronald George Trapani

March 13, 1935 – December 31, 2024 

Lt. Commander Ronald George Trapani (Ret.), a devoted husband, loving father, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 89. 

Born on March 13, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, Ron dedicated his life to service, faith, and family. He served with distinction in the United States Coast Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander after 30 years of honorable service. A man of deep faith, Ron was also a committed member of the Knights of Columbus, embodying the values of charity, unity, and fraternity throughout his life. 

Ron is preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty Anne, of 47 wonderful years until her passing in 2007. Together, they built a family rooted in love and faith, raising seven devoted daughters who were his greatest joy. His second wife of 13 years, Kathy Beckett; his son-in-law, John Cullen; his mother, Antoinette; and his two sons, James and John. 

 Ron is survived by his seven daughters, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

- Christine Cullen (widow of John Cullen, mother of Caroline and Isabelle), 

- Kathleen Trapani (mother of Gabrielle and grandmother of Declan), 

- Suzanne Crawford (married to Greg Crawford, mother of Grace and Mary), 

- Elizabeth Carter (married to Sean Carter, stepmother of Catch), 

- Annemarie Trapani-Bauer (married to Shawn Bauer, mother of Thomas and Jack), and 

- Michele Trapani-Bearden (married to Bryan Bearden). 

He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn Dillon, and her family: Nina Dillon (Chet), Greg Spinoccia (Rosanna), Anthony (Aly), Sonny, Enzo, and Alex.

Known for his integrity, kindness, loyalty, and dedication, Ron was a steady anchor for his family and a source of inspiration for all who knew him. His love for storytelling, humor, one liners, and his unwavering faith, and his profound sense of duty left an indelible mark on everyone he met. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, 18000 East Arapahoe Road, Foxfield, Colorado, with military honors to follow in recognition of his service to the nation. 

 Immediately following the funeral service, Ron’s family would like to invite everyone to The Parkway Bar and Grill at 22775 E. Aurora Parkway Aurora, CO 80016 open house from 12:30-3:00

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to The Wounded Warrior Project.

 Lt. Commander Ronald George Trapani will be remembered for his steadfast devotion to his family, his faith, and his country. His legacy of love, strength, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was deeply grateful for a wide circle of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
