Ronald Raymond Vanous

Ronald “Ron” Raymond Vanous, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away on November 21, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, two sons, Andy (Kami) Vanous and Topher (Kim) Vanous, and four grandchildren, Braylon, Calvin, Avery, and Ellie Vanous, and two sisters, Carol (Dale) Bartkus and Susan (Donald) Marks, cousin Jan (Gary) Martner Delago, Aunt Pat (Jerry) Benson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ron was born and raised in Denver, graduating from East High School and attended Colorado State University. He worked several years for Public Service Company, as well as Paxton Wood Source. He was a long time member and usher at St. Jude Catholic Church, an avid skier, serving on the National Ski Patrol at Vail, and was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts of America, International Order of Rocky Mountain Goats, and the Colorado Woodworkers Guild. He was a huge Bronco fan, being a season ticket holder for many years.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 3, at Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227.

Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon, on Tuesday, December 4, at Christ on the Mountain Catholic Parish, 13922 West Utah Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80228, with a reception to follow at the St. Jude Catholic Church Community Center, 9405 West Florida Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80232.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, 9405 West Florida Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80232 or the charity of your choice.
