Rosa Pietra

Rosa Pietra, 89 resident of Centennial, Colorado passed away peacefully on January 7, 2013. Mother, grandmother, sister, and wife, Rosa lived a full and long life. She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Pietra and brother Giuseppe Adipietro. She is survived by her son Dr. Biagio (Bill) Pietra and wife Betsy Pietra, and grandchildren Court, Christopher, Ashley and Kathryn. She is also survived by her two sisters Vittoria Adipietro and Nicolina (Adipietro) Vozzolo. Rosa was born in Minturno, Italy to parents Nicola Adipietro and Giovanna Laracca Adipietro. She and her siblings were orphaned early in life and were raised by their grandparents. She endured the hardship of World War II. Rosa and Tony were married on November 20, 1955. Rosa left the familiar with her husband Tony for the hope of a new life in the United States. She was proud to become a citizen of the U.S. Rosa was a long time resident of Norwalk, Connecticut and later resided in Ft. Myers, Florida. She moved To Centennial, Colorado in the year 2000 to be close to her son and family. A small woman in stature, with a large heart, Rosa left a lasting impression on all that knew her. Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 10:00a.m. at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home at 5303 East County Line Road (one block west of South Holly Street), Centennial, CO 80122.
