Rosalie O. Gaasch

April 25, 1918 — February 20, 2015

Rosalie Gaasch, age 96 of Littleton, Colorado went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2015. She was born in Pennsylvania in 1918 and moved to Colorado when she was a young child. She was the third oldest out of nine children. She attended schools in Denver. When she was a young woman she accepted Christ as her savior and loved and trusted Him throughout her life. She always pointed her children to Him and took them to church. In 1936, she married Chuck Gaasch and to this union three children were born, Chuck Gaasch Jr., Betty (Villano) and Nancy (Fritzler). In the 1950s, they lived in Denver and she attended Emily Griffith Opportunity School where she learned to oil paint. She painted many beautiful oil paintings. In 1957, they moved to Conifer, Colorado and built a house there. Chuck commuted back and forth to Denver as a pilot for United Airlines at the old Stapleton Airport. They also ran a small grocery store they had built. In the 70s she was also in real estate and involved in the Republican Women's Committee. In their lifetime, Rosalie and Chuck enjoyed being in a camper club and enjoyed spending many winters in Tucson, Arizona as snowbirds. They entertained many with their wonderful guitar music, as they played together all their lives, Chuck on lead and Rose as rhythm. They enjoyed coming to Bob and Nancy Fritzler's farm north of Flagler. She enjoyed riding in tractors and combines, working in the garden and watching the livestock. She was known in our family as an excellent cook and was known for making the best lasagna. She was a gourmet cook and when she set the table it was fit for a king. She was a beautiful, classy woman who always dressed her best no matter what day it was or where she was going. She was sassy, sweet and fun. She was a very giving and unselfish mother with a love for ALL people. She left us all with wonderful memories, a trust and faith that God is real and a reminder to keep trusting Him. She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck, her daughter Betty Villano, her grandson Steve Gaasch, four sisters and three brothers. Those who remain to celebrate her life are Chuck and Donna Gaasch of Littleton; Nancy and Bob Fritzler of Flagler; sister Gweny and Bob Luby of Denver; son-in-law Jerry Villano of Tucson, Arizona; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on March 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood, six blocks north of Hampden Ave. A lunch will be served following the memorial service and then a burial service will follow at Fairmont Cemetery at Alameda and Quebec.
