Rose F. Pettibone

Rose F. Pettibone, 98, of Aurora, Colorado passed away peacefully on February 27, 2020 at Saint Andrews Village. Born on August 28, 1921 in Spokane, Washington, daughter to the late Louis and Theresa Via. Rose joins her late husband Gerald G. Pettibone in eternal life.

During Rose's high school years she excelled in tennis and basketball. Following high school she attended business college in Spokane and took a secretarial position at the nearby Kaiser Aluminum plant contributing to the WWII effort. It was during the war that she met her husband Jerry Pettibone and right after their wedding in 1949 they moved to Jerry's hometown of Denver. Rose then went to work for GSA at the Federal Center and shortly thereafter their son Jerry was born. Rose and her husband Jerry loved skiing, tennis, traveling and lots of dancing. After her husband's sudden death in 1974 Rose didn't slow down. She continued to ski, play tennis, bowl, golf and dance into her 80's. Rose enjoyed world travel and especially enjoyed traveling to Maui with her son Jerry. She was blessed with a grandson Chris and great grandson Caleb who brought much happiness into her life. Rose touched many lives with her genuine caring and compassionate interest in people. She lived a life of gratitude and readily offered words of encouragement and wisdom garnered from her many life's experiences. Rose's strong Catholic faith guided her along life's journey till the very end.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday March 10, 2020 starting at 2:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227. A Recitation of the Rosary will take place following the Visitation on March 10, 2020 starting at 3:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel. A Funeral Mass will take place on March 11, 2020 starting at 11:00 AM at Saint Bernadette Catholic Parish, 7240 West 12th Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80214.
