Rose Etta Lee Walker

April 29, 1931 — May 1, 2011

Rose Etta Lee Lederhos Walker, Age 80, died May 1, 2011, at Life Care Center of Evergreen. She was born April 29, 1931 in the town of Gorham, KS, to the late John and Matilda Lederhos. She graduated from St. Francis de Sales, Denver, CO, in 1948. She was united in marriage to Hillary Cletus Walker on June 24, 1950 and lived in Aurora, CO, until their divorce in 1972. Rose and children continued to live in the family home until 2000 when she moved to Bailey, CO. Rose was the supervisor of food service at Lowry Air Force Base for 22 years until the base closed. She was also a devout Catholic and long time member of St. Therese in Aurora and Our Lady of the Pines in Conifer, CO. She was the loving mother and grandmother of seven children, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Rose is survived by six children: Carol (George) Wilson of Evergreen, Bill (Caroline) Walker of Aurora, Larry (Vickie) Walker of Evergreen, Richard (Terri) Walker of Bailey, Leonard Walker of Golden and Paul (Tammy) Walker of Bailey and son-in-law Lee Van Otterloo of Henderson, NV. Also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Gail Van Otterloo, Sister Rita Mae Zimmerman, Brother John (Bud) Lederhos, and granddaughter Amber Fair. Rose was devoted to her family, a loving mother and mother-in-law, cherished grandmother, caring sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and wonderful friend to many. She was a very passionate and independent woman instilling a strong sense of decency in her children and grandchildren. Her dazzling smile would light up the room when she entered. She loved deeply and unconditionally and in turn was loved with the same intensity. She will be greatly missed. A special thanks to everyone at Life Care Center of Evergreen.
