Rosemarie Fallt

Rosemarie Dora Fallt, 63, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 7, 2019 in Denver, CO. She left this world as strong-willed as the day she entered it. Through a hard fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease, she retained her quick wit and charmed all those who encountered her, remaining remarkably trusting, calm, kind, and gentle even in her toughest moments.

A lover of cosmopolitans and red wine, music from Motown to modern pop, and Good & Plenty's, Rose's strength of character was infinitely better than her taste in candy. Her favorite stories were ones of redemption, tolerance, and understanding. She cheered for the underdog and found joy in people from different backgrounds uniting and overcoming together. A fierce and loyal friend, a generous and loving mother, and a compassionate and supportive sister, Rose made the world a better place every day that she was in it.

Rose graduated from Widefield High School in 1973 and from Colorado State University in 1978 with a Bachelor's in Psychology. She received her Master's in Gerontology from St. Cloud State University and she planned to spend her career advocating for and supporting women with Alzheimer's of the Baby Boomer generation. During her graduate education she interned with seniors in a memory care unit at SummerWood of Plymouth Presbyterian Home. Upon graduation she hoped to continue her career working with those with an unfortunate diagnosis of dementia, until her own dementia progressed and she herself required the care she had previously so lovingly provided.

Rose should be remembered for her generosity and kindness. She was ready to open her home at a moment's notice, and literally give you the shirt off her back or the plate from which she was eating. She often had to be politely refused several times if she felt her food was worthy of sharing before she herself would finish it. She had a servant's heart through and through and this never wavered even in her final days.

She is survived by her children Ryan, Anders, and Mackenzie, and her brothers Frank and John O'Connor.

A memorial service for friends and family will be held in Minnesota, in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in her honor.
