Prince St, Littleton, CO with a reception and celebration of life to follow. The service will be live-streamed. Interment will be at a later date.
Rosie was born in Denver, CO, and has gone home to the Lord at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Irene Blatter, siblings Tom Blatter and Helen Wirkus, and granddaughter Kris Ann DeHerrera as well as many extended family members. She is survived by her beloved husband Dick, her children Phyllis (Dan) Uribe, Robert (Judi) Bergin, Donna (RJ) DeHerrera, and Mary Jensen, in addition to 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Oldest of 5, her surviving siblings are Frank (Barbara) Blatter and Pat Berry. She will be dearly missed by her large extended family and many friends.
She grew up in Westminster, Colorado. After graduating from Union High School, she met the love of her life on February 15, 1949. She and Dick Bergin were married a short time later on August 2,1949. Some people were surprised when daughter Phyllis did not arrive until September 1950.
Rosie stayed home with the four children while Dick worked as a traveling salesman. Her life changed when Dick became medically disabled and she went to work full time in her early 30s to support the family.
Family was extremely important to both of them, and their travels every year usually included visiting cousins or other friends and relatives. Of course, when she was reading the map Las Vegas and the slot machines was always on the way to or from anywhere.
She also loved gardening and flowers in general despite being allergic to the scents of many flowers, including baby’s breath. Florists hated making her bouquets without it! When COVID took most of her sight, not being able to see people and flowers were the two things she missed the most.
She requested that for her celebration of life people dress in cheerful colors; as you know red was her favorite color. Although she will miss everyone, she is finally at peace and without pain.
