Rosemary Witherow Laverty

Written by Rosemary herself: Rosemary Witherow Laverty was born on November 29, 1924 to Joseph and Clara Witherow in Riverton, Wyoming. Their family moved to Colorado in 1926. She is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Laverty; brothers, Joseph Stuart Witherow, Jr., Dennis Charles Witherow and sister, Ann Hodges. Mother of Roslyne (Brad) Stevens, Marilyn (Robert Birney) Laverty, Denise Claire (Tony Peters) Laverty, Annette (Warren) Kesselring and Theresa Laverty. Grandmother to Brooke Stevens, Leitte Flenner, Wade Stevens, Kyle Stevens and Liam Laverty. Great-grandmother of Addison and Graham Flenner. Rosemary and her siblings were educated in Fort Lupton, Colorado, Kindergarten through High School. She graduated from Loretto Heights College in Denver. She was employed by General Chemical Co., Gates Rubber Co., and Gulf Oil Co. She was married in 1951 to John William Laverty. While the children were in school, she taught at Havern School for Perceptual Handicapped Children and worked for Consumer Price Index and was the accountant for her husband's insurance agency. Her pastimes included golf, knitting, needle point, cross stitch, cross word puzzles, jig-saw puzzles and bridge games. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth, Boulevard, Colorado. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9405 West Florida Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80232. The interment will be in Longmont, the home of her grandparents, D.C. and Henrietta Donovan, following the service. Rosemary requests donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 3629 West 29th Avenue, Denver CO US 80212.
