Rosemary E. Satterwhite

February 20, 1933 — December 11, 2013

Rosemary E. Satterwhite, a long-time resident of Broomfield, passed away on December 11, 2013. She lived a full life and she painted her own beautiful sunset. Rosemary, a Denver native, attended St. Dominic's Grade School, Cathedral High School, and the College of Mt. St. Joseph on the Ohio. She earned her Masters in Education from the University of San Francisco. She married William ""Bill"" Satterwhite in 1960. After Bill passed away in 1972, Rosemary resumed her teaching career while raising her three children. In retirement, Rosemary developed a passion for family history. She enjoyed finding jewels of information in ancestral records. She would smile to think that future generations will someday be reading these words. Rosemary was an independent woman who inspired many as she overcame life's challenges with humility and fortitude. She touched many lives through her teaching, her kind and loving heart, and her generosity. She smiled easily and she brought great strength, humor, and joy to those who knew her. She will be deeply missed, and she will remain always in our hearts. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth (Burgett) McDermott, husband, William Satterwhite; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbara McDermott of Denver; brother, Bill McDermott (Carol) of Temple City, CA. Survived by her three children, Daniel (Penny) Satterwhite, Mary Jane (Kevin) Kreiman, Arlene Satterwhite; Grandchildren Molly Satterwhite and William Satterwhite; and numerous dear nieces and nephews. Please join Rosemary's family in a celebration of her life. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 10:30 am, at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community, 7400 W. 80th Ave, Arvada, CO. A reception will be held immediately following the service at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community. Interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W. 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, at 2:00 pm.
