Rosemary “Rosy” Ann Felten Whittaker age 86 passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024 in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jack (age 91), sisters Ruth McNiff of Port Townsend Washington, and JoAnn Hallenbeck of Kensington Maryland; her three children Doug (Linda) Whittaker, Kelly (Anthony) Baldessari and Dean (Rebecca) Whittaker and eight grandchildren; Christopher, Jessica, Michael, Morgan, Jack, Jacob, Caleb and Lilly . Rosy has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She was the glue that kept the family together and always put her family first.
She was born in Rose Creek, Minnesota and grew up in Rochester, Minnesota. She moved to Denver with friends in 1958 where she met her husband Jack and started a family. Rosy was an accomplished cook and enjoyed preparing many wonderful meals for her family, especially during the holidays. She was kind enough to pass down many favorite recipes that her children and grandchildren will continue to treasure. Rosy always enjoyed a good bourbon, Neil Diamond and traveling, especially to see family. She and Jack traveled extensively over the years, enjoying trips to many different countries. The two of them made holidays, especially Christmas, a priority and a special time to bring their family together. She will be deeply missed, and her strength and determination will carry on through her family.
Services, as well as a Mass, will be held at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 3 PM. (11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue Aurora, Colorado). The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, to please call your loved ones or give them an extra hug when you see them, as family was everything to Rosy.
