Roy W. Applegate

Roy William Applegate passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25th, 2018 in Aurora, Colorado. He was born on February 6, 1936. Son to William and Florence Applegate of Denver, CO (both deceased), brother to Ray Applegate of Vista, CA (deceased), Judy Wallon of Berthoud, CO (deceased ), Janice Van Boening of Venango, NE (deceased) and John Applegate of Evergreen, CO (deceased). He is survived by his brother-in-law Duane Wallon of Berthoud, CO as well as many nieces and nephews across Colorado, Nebraska, Texas, Virginia, Arizona and China.

Roy grew up in Denver, graduated from South High School, and went on to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder earning a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany after WWII. After returning from his post Roy worked as an Aerospace Engineer at Lockheed Martin. During his time there, he worked on the SkyLab project for NASA's Apollo program.

Roy had a passion for woodworking and was an avid outdoorsman and archer.

A funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 8^th with a visitation one-hour prior at Horan and McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO. Interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO.
