Roy Harold Brigham
September 15, 1946 – December 5, 2021
Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Roy passed away peacefully at his home in Johnstown, Colorado on a bright and warm sunny morning surrounded by family on December 5, 2021 at age 75.
Roy was born to LaVern and Shirley Brigham in Denver, Colorado on September 15th, 1946. He is survived by his wife Pammy; daughters Stacie of Johnstown, CO and Jodie of Shell, WY; son Gerrad of Evergreen, CO; sister Verna of Carr, CO; sister Sharon of Mesa, AZ; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Robert G. Brigham.
Roy graduated from Westminster High School where he was a member of the wrestling squad. He married early in life and started his family and his own window cleaning business in the Denver area. After selling his window cleaning business, Roy moved his family to Wheatland, Wyoming to breed and raise horses on their ranch, the Wonder Ranch. He came back to Colorado and window cleaning in the 80’s and then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he designed and fabricated motorcycle accessories for several years. Eventually, he came back to Colorado to be closer to his children and grandchildren. His late-stage career was taking his grandchildren and great grandchildren to Jim’s Burger Haven for a Cherry Shake or A&W for a Root Beer Float. He could never get enough time with his grandkids, and he made sure they enjoyed every minute they spent together.
Roy was an avid vocalist during high school and throughout his life, entertaining people at organized events, family gatherings, parties, karaoke nights, and fireside gatherings with his renditions of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and all the stars of the 50’s and beyond. He was a gifted athlete, competing in motocross and waterskiing events in his younger years. He was also a hot rod and motorcycle enthusiast, winning 1st Place for 35-39 Street Coupes at the Tri State Auto Show in Denver with his 39 Ford Coupe and taking his 91 Harley FXR Lowrider to the dragstrips in Phoenix.
Roy was a fun-loving soul with a huge heart. He was the life of the party and a practical jokester. He was always able to bring laughter and joy to the people around him. He was outgoing and kind, and he was a giver. If he called you a friend, he would do anything for you. He was called home to be with his loved ones who had passed before him, and the prayers he said every night before bed have now been answered. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held for Roy at Horan and McConaty at 7577 W. 80th Avenue in Arvada, Colorado on December 16th from 2:00-5:00 pm. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm and a reception will follow immediately after at the same location.
