Roy Wilson Penny, Sr.

Roy W. Penny, Sr., passed away on September 18th at his home surrounded by his family. He was 94 years old. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Isabelle H. Penny, sons Roy W. (Mary Gillen) Penny, Jr., Chris (Whitney McMurtry) Penny, grandchildren Roy, Eileen, August, Henry and Julia. Born in Shawnee, OK, Roy was an author and served as a Major in the US Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He taught English for 26 years, mostly at St. George's High School in Newport, RI, where he was department chair. Memorial Service, Wednesday, September 26, 11 am, Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street, Denver, CO 80220. Burial with honors will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
