Ruben G. Garcia

Ruben G. Garcia, formerly of the Denver area, passed away at the age of 61 in Carmel, IN on Thursday August 9, 2012 following his battle with prostate cancer. He was born on May 9, 1951 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Frank and Teresita Garcia. Ruben was a proud alumni of New Mexico State University where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in chemical engineering as well as the University of Denver where he earned his MBA. Ruben was highly regarded throughout the roofing industry. He worked for over 25 years at Johns Manville in various research and development, as well as management positions. For the past five years, Ruben served as the Director of Product Development at Firestone Building Products. Ruben was an avid fly-fisherman, race walker, wine enthusiast, and connoisseur of New Mexican green chile. Ruben is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Janice, son, Gregory, daughter, Michelle, brothers, Denis Garcia and Alex Garcia, and sisters, Sylvia Sandoval and Dolores Adams. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday August 26th at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel at 3101 South Wadsworth. Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 28, 2012, 2:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227. The family will be available for a visitation at the chapel from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
