Ruby Smith

Ruby Kate Smith, born in Georgia July 17th 1936 was the second oldest of nine children to Lucille and Erby Williams. Being the eldest daughter she spent much of her childhood helping to raise her seven other siblings among the sunshine and poplar trees throughout Alabama. After graduating high school she had a family of her own and dedicated her time toward raising her four children. Remembered for having an impeccable home, she was known for being a meticulous housekeeper and an amazing cook. She spent time providing transportation for disabled children to and from school. Later in life she took up work as a caregiver for the elderly and was adored by her clients.

Ruby was an avid card player and found great joy in a game of Rummy or Pinochle. She was a bold and strong woman who had a loving and generous heart. She was a proud and doting grandmother and great grandmother who would go out of her way to support her family. She is revered for her Southern Hospitality and thoughtfulness. Ruby died in her sleep at her home in Thornton Colorado March 20th 2021 at the age of 84. She is survived by her siblings Mary, Hazel, Shirley, Linda, Vernon and Jesse, her children Gary, Julie and Cody and several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
