Russel Lee Fry
January 28, 1944 â June 19, 2019
Russel Lee Fry was born on January 28, 1944 in Boise City, Oklahoma to Verdella Mae and Robert Ellsworth Fry. He was raised in Keyes, Oklahoma. Russel passed away on June 19, 2019 in Denver, Colorado. He was married to Susan Ellen Fry and leaves four children, Eren (Catherine), Brendan (Kelly), Caitlin, and Patrick Fry and two grandchildren, Eamonn and Declan Fry. He also leaves a sister, LaVerne (Ray) Hiner and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Russel will be remembered for being a kind and giving husband and father. He shared his love of music, photography, hiking, excellent cooking, his insatiable love of food (Mexican food, milkshakes and sweets) and his infectious laugh. His Jack Kerouac style writings of his many adventures in Oklahoma, Denver and many other places recording street scenes and experiences in a notebook are legendary and treasured by family and friends.
He was an avid reader, athlete and traveled the USA, Canada and Mexico throughout his life. He never missed an opportunity to take an amazing picture, especially of a sunrise, sunset, or the open road. Coming from âno man's land in the Oklahoma panhandle he had a keen eye for nature, love for the open skies and great respect for the hard work of the people who lived there. He was loyal to old time friends and his greatest love was spending time with his family who were gifted with his extraordinary understanding of living each day with attentiveness and how to cherish each moment.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time and day.
