Russell M. Ivester

Russell M. Ivester, 78, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2019 at her home in Denver, Colorado. She was the middle child of 5 children born to Russell and Jewell McGinnis in El Paso, Texas on August 20, 1940. She attended El Paso Tech where she graduated at the age of 16 years old.

On March 7, 1959, Russell married Reuben E. Ivester in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They were married for 46 years.

Reub and Little Russell enjoyed camping, fishing, and gatherings. Russell was the life of the party and always had a good time. She was sassy!! Those that knew her would agree.

Russell was a great daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her three children: Renault (Antonya D.) Ivester, RiKwan (David Williams) Ivester, and Rottowa I (Patricia A.) Ivester. Her grandchildren Roilen, Re'Niaya, Riana, and Rottowa II, 5-great grandchildren, 2-step granddaughters and 5-step great grandchildren. Also, her brothers, Wallace (Eva) McGinnis and Adrian McGinnis.

She was preceded in death by her husband Reuben, her parents, and the following siblings: Beetrece (Harlan) Stewart and Lenora (Logan) Woodard.

In honor of Russell, a Graveside service will take place April 15, 2019, 2:15pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area “C”.
