Russell (Russ) G. Ray Jr., 62, of Littleton, Colorado passed away suddenly on July 2, 2016 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloma Brooks Ray and Russell G. Ray Sr. Russ grew up in Monroe, LA. He is survived by his wife of nearly 27 years, Vicki Mann Ray of Littleton, his son Shawn Ray of Richmond, Virginia, daughters Tracy Wells Davis of Colonial Heights, Virginia and Angela Wells Jeffers of Richmond, Virginia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cody Redmond and Caleb Redmond of Richmond, Virginia, Brooke Adams (Josh) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Faith Davis of Colonial Heights, Virginia and Bianca Davis of Richmond, Virginia and two great-grandchildren: Maci and Emery Adams of Clarksville, Tennessee. He is also survived by his sister Paula Perrine, his nieces Kandi Kirby and Courtney Rennie, and great-nephew Kayden Kirby, all of Roseburg, Oregon. Russell will be missed by his sisters-in-law Sandra Walker (Charlie) and Claudette Saunders (Karl), numerous friends, other family and the entire Denver Nuggets family. Russell and his wife were avid Denver Nuggets fans for the last 24+ years. Russell served his country in the United States Navy. There will be a memorial/celebration of life service on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 6:00pm with a potluck-style reception immediately following. The service and reception will take place at Restoration Christian Fellowship at 15660 E. 6th Ave., Aurora, CO. Friends are asked to dress casually, even wear your favorite Nuggets attire. A loving and loved friend, Kenyatta Driver will lead the service at the request of the family. Speakers will include Andrew Feinstein, Alex Ramirez and Joe Rico to share memories of Russ. Horan & McConaty on County Line Rd, Centennial, CO provided services for the family. In lieu of flowers, financial donations can be made at any US Bank nationwide to the Russell Ray Memorial fund.
