Russell Robert Reed

Russell Robert Reed April 11, 1956-April 7, 2016 Russ was born April 11, 1956 in Redfield South Dakota. He was the middle child of Betty and Ron Reed. They resided on a farm in Rockham, and then later moved to Huron. Russ graduated in 1974 from Huron High School. In 1982 he married the love of his life, Susan K. Crist and they made their home in Morrison CO. In 1991 they were blessed with twins, Ron and Christina, who were his pride and joy. Family always came first. His profession as a glazer began in Huron and later led him to Sioux Falls, SD and eventually Denver, Colorado. His career path entailed many years of hard work, which guided him to be a foreman, co-owner of a glass company, and the superintendent of Horizon Glass, where he retired in 2015. His passion for life and positive attitude showed through in his everyday life. He had a way of making everyone smile with his happiness, charm, and wit. Russ made everyone feel special and as if they were all part of his family. At a young age he sparked a love for adrenaline packed activities; especially, hunting and motocross. Hunting visits to South Dakota were a very important part of his life and allowed him to keep his High School best friends close. The motocross life style was soon passed down to his twins. Memories were made traveling the country and spending countless hours together laughing, while they all did what they loved most. Russ was a moto dad to all. Survived by wife Susan; twin children Tina & Ron; sisters Linda (Randy Volzke) Peterson & Joanne (Brad) Weeg. Brother and Sister in-law Sharon (John) Hemerick, Rick (Nancy) Crist. Many nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews. Proceeded in Death by Parents Ron and Betty Reed; Mother and Father in-law Lee and Vi Crist.
