Russell A. Wentworth

January 22, 1976 — July 20, 2011

After a 7 year battle with cancer, Russell Allen Wentworth died on July 20, 2011. He was born in San Jose, California in 1976, son of Kay Callister Wentworth and Russell A. Wentworth, and Matthew R. Mitchell. He was raised in San Jose, California and Chandler, Arizona. Russell joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was 18. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a double Bachelor's Degree in History and Psychology. He later earned a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law. Russell married Carissa Brown Wentworth in the Salt Lake Temple in 2001. He worked as a Police Officer and Firefighter for the city of Sunnyvale, California for six years and loved every minute of it. For the last four years he has been employed as a Deputy District Attorney for Adams County, Colorado. He was an experienced Appellate Advocate before the Colorado Supreme Court. Russell loved the law and the Constitution of the United States of America. He was a true Patriot and kept up a regular correspondence with his political representatives. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father and is survived by his wife, Carissa B. Wentworth; his parents; three young children; siblings, Leah Arratia-Rivera, April Wentworth and Elizabeth Wentworth; grandparents, Doug Gunn, Myrna Lindsey-Gunn, Rosie Wentworth, Russell Wentworth and Joan Wentworth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Denver North Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 100 East Malley Drive, Northglenn, Colorado 80233. A visitation will be held at the Church from 10-10:45am. Burial will be Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 11:00am, in the Riverton City Cemetery, Riverton, Utah. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been established for his children. Donations can be made to the Russell Wentworth Memorial fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
