Ruth Snider Castagneri was born in Blacksville, West Virginia, on July 3, 1936 to John and Mary Snider. In 1941, the family moved to Pentress, West Virginia which would become her childhood home. Ruth was the fourth oldest of six siblings: Juanita, Dorothy, Charles, John, and William. Ruth attended and graduated from Clay-Battelle High School in Blacksville, West Virginia, in 1954. As coworkers, she met and later married Andrew Castagneri in 1957 in Morgantown, West Virginia and they had five children: Mark, Anne, James, Phillip and Stephen, all of Denver, Colorado. She had eight grandchildren, Eric, Elizabeth, Danielle, Nicole, Joseph, Cora, Andrew, Simon and step-grandson, Sean. In addition to being a loving mother and accomplished homemaker, Ruth excelled at many jobs including secretarial, accounting, and tax preparation. Ruth was a very compassionate person and volunteered for numerous organizations for many years to help the less fortunate or for those in need. Ruth's true passions were the love of her family and to learn and experience life from individuals who crossed her path. She was a counselor to many and was always striving to understand the meaning of life. She was an avid Broncos fan, reader and gardener and she nurtured a beautiful rose garden for may years. Ruth is survived by her brothers, Charles, John, and William; and all of her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Juanita and Dorothy; and her beloved husband, Andy. Memorial Services honoring Ruth will be Thursday, June 28, 2018, beginning at 2:00 PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, in Thornton, Colorado 80229. Private Committal Services will be held in the future at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Ruth requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Alzheimerâs Foundation of America in memory of Ruth's mother, Mary Snider at Alzfdn.org.
