Beloved wife and mother, Ruth Clark, was called home to her Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ on August 26, 2017. She was 39 years old and a warrior in the battle against cancer. Ruth Ann Clark was born in Astoria, Oregon, on October 21, 1977. She was the baby sister to Leah, Lisa, David, Emma, and Becky and best friend to her little brother Aaron. While she loved them all very much, Ruth shared a special friendship and bond with her sister Lisa who doted over her and who could always bring a smile to her face. She also nurtured a special affection towards her sister Becky. Ruth was blessed to be able to call Astoria home for the whole of her childhood. She could easily be called upon to reminisce about the endless hours of play in and around her childhood home, her love of the beach, and the abundant supply of summer blackberries. It was during her youth that Ruthâs lifelong love for and appreciation of music blossomed. At the age of 9, she began taking piano lessons and thereafter could always be found playing and singing and was often called upon to be the center of family music time. Ruth graduated from Astoria High School in 1995. Soon after, she moved to Rexburg, Idaho where she attended Ricks College. There, she formed some of the deepest friendships of her life. After graduation in 1997, she followed one of those friends, Tiniel (Schow) Williams, to Pocatello where she attended Idaho State University and received her BA in vocal performance. She was a rising star during this period, winning an array of awards and scholarships, most notably from her auditions with the Metropolitan Opera. While an undergraduate, she met her one true love, Jared Clark, and they were married for time and all eternity in the Portland, Oregon temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ruth and Jared were blessed with five beautiful children: Joshua, Katie, Nathan, Alice, and Ava. Ruth was a passionate stay at home Mom who loved her children deeply and eventually gave everything for them. She was unfailingly loyal and supportive of her husband during their 19 years of marriage while his professional training took their young family from Idaho, to Oregon, Utah, and eventually to Arvada, Colorado. Ruth was never idle and made time to explore not only her passion for music, but her love of baking and cooking (for which she was well known), her interests in photography, sewing and other creative crafts. Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Matthew, with whom she is now reunited. She is survived by her parents Donald Francis Albrecht and Lora Lee (Stout) Albrecht, her husband Jared Matthew Clark, and her children Katie Ann Clark, Nathan Albrecht Clark, Alice Elaine Clark, and Ava Grace Clark. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 beginning at 6:00 PM to 8 :00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. A Funeral Service will held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Alkire Building, 12995 West 72nd Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. The Interment will follow at Golden Cemetery, 755 Ulysses Street, Golden, Colorado. Please share your memories of Ruth and condolences with her family by signing the guest book below.
