Ruth V. McVehil, age 80, passed away on Friday September 18th, 2015. Ruth was born on March 3rd, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland to Henry and Edith Megenhardt. Ruth grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania in 1956. She and her family moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1962, where she raised her sons Philip and Jeffrey. Ruth worked in the financial aid department at the University of Colorado, on both the Boulder and Denver campuses. She was married in 1988 to George McVehil; together they made their home in Centennial Colorado with their beloved West Highland White Terriers. Ruth devoted her energies to improving the lives of those around her. All received warmth from her singing, piano playing and vibrant love of nature. She loved traveling, cooking and most of all sharing the experience of life with her family and friends. She will have great views from heaven of the oceans and mountains that she travelled and loved. Ruth is survived by her husband George, son Philip W. Ward and his wife Debra, son Jeffrey R. Ward and his wife Gail, stepsons Douglas and Jeffrey McVehil, and grandchildren Lindsay W. Ward and Weston W. Ward. She will be sadly missed by all.
