Ruth E. Moon, 86, formerly of Fort Collins, died Aug. 3, 2004, at her home in Denver. Mrs. Moon lived in Fort Collins from 1977 through 2001, where she helped her husband Dale E. Moon run Forks Lumber. Previously she had lived in Ohio, Michigan and New York. Ruth Evelyn Earhart was born in Columbus, Ohio, Aug. 28, 1917, to Orin Virgil Earhart and Hazel Mae (Roof) Earhart. She married Dale Edwin Moon Sept. 4, 1937. He preceded her in death Jan. 10, 1999. She is survived by children Dale E. Moon, Jr., of Seattle; Michael A. Moon, Fort Collins; Diana Nicholson, Fort Collins; Susan Moon, Denver; and Deborah Seldner, Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Tracye, Dale III, Michael, Cindy, Caroline, Destry, Deyne, Deramie, Nathan, Josh, Jennifer and Amy; great grandchildren Megan, Calvin, Jack, Dylan and Bryce; sister Helen Roscoe; and brother Robert Earhart. Ruth was cherished by her family as a loving mother and grandmother. She was a talented artist and seamstress. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 6, at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 East Alameda Ave., Denver CO 80246, followed by private interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Augustana Lutheran Church Senior Ministry.
