Ruth Nickoley died peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2022, after a prolonged illness. She was born in Leeds, North Dakota in 1932, the youngest of four girls all of whom preceded her in death.
In l951 she married Art Nickoley, whom she met while they were both singing in the choir at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Denver. They celebrated 53 years of marriage. Art passed away in 2005.
She is survived by her children: Kathy Good (Rich), Karen Novess (Dave), four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and Bob Martin, a longtime partner.
Ruth's greatest joy in life was her family. She was also thankful for the opportunities she had in using her musical talents. She was an accomplished pianist, soloist, choir director and teacher.
She was also successful in her job with the State of Colorado, eventually becoming Chief of Benefits for the State of Colorado.
Ruth loved bridge, bowling, the Broncos and playing golf with her friends of many years at Pinehurst...and we should mention her trips to the Casino where she told us she always came out a winner
