Ruth Rigsby, age 84, loving mother of three, step mother to six, and adoring wife to husband, Murray Rigsby passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022, in Aurora, CO.
Ruth was born in Denver, CO on September 16, 1937, to the late Beulah Kaper and Jack Gorley. She moved with her family at a young age to Casper, WY where she lived until her graduation from Natrona County High School.
Ruth married Joseph Howe in 1959, began a family, and moved back to the Denver area where they went on to have three children, Sandra, Kevin and Brian. They divorced in 1978. Ruth then met Murray Rigsby, father of four adult children. They were married in 1987 which created a large beautiful blended family, which has been a source of love, joy and blessings to her for more than 35 years.
Ruth had a long and successful career in Oil & Gas, General Contracting and Risk Management. She retired in 2000, from Samsonite Luggage as their Risk Manager.
Ruth is survived by her devoted husband, Murray; her daughter, Sandra Vigil (Patrick); sons, Kevin Howe (Kathy); Brian Howe; and her stepchildren, Steve Rigsby (Tammie); Sue Stein; Stacy Boesel (Gary); Scott Rigsby (Beth) and Barb Gibb. She was “Gramma Ruth” to 24 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Ruth had six siblings who all preceded her in death, and is also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law and grandson.
Ruth loved to knit blankets for all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren in their family, and everyone always loved receiving them. She was an accomplished seamstress and took great pride in creating clothing for her children as they were growing up. She loved to travel and was also an avid Colorado Rockies fan.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 am, on Monday, June 20th at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Littleton, CO 80122. A reception will follow the service. A graveside interment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery Staging Area "A," 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, CO 80236 at 2:00 pm.
