Sadie Irene Hand

Sadie Irene Hand, 93 of Aurora, Colorado, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away January 2, 2018 after living a long full life of love and service. She was born December 18, 1924 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Jacob and Anna Margaret Leonhardt Riffel. After high school, Sadie attended a three-year nursing program and then worked for many years as a nurse. Prior to her retirement, Sadie worked in Orthopedic medicine. Sadie married the love of her life, William Rollin Hand, Sr. and they had six children. Her husband, William, preceded her in death in 2011. In her spare time, Sadie loved working on Genealogy and learning about her family history. She loved life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. A faithful and active member of the LDS Church, Sadie has left her family with a Legacy of faith. She is survived by her children, Rollin (Denise) Hand, Jr.; Teresa Ann Hand; Christine Jane (Allen) Orser; Nancy Joy (Mark) Teare; Michael Paul (Tara) Hand; Fredrick Norman (Becky) Hand; 23 grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Darlene) Riffel. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings. A viewing for Sadie will be held from 6-7pm, on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Horan & McConaty 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. (at Parker Rd.), Aurora, CO. 80014. A Celebration of Life and Remembrances will be held from 12Noon-2pm, on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3101 S. Flanders Street, Aurora, CO 80013. This celebration will be a luncheon where time will be available for the sharing of memories of Sadie’s life. A private burial will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
