Sally Selander

December 10, 1928 — February 25, 2013

There was great joy in heaven as Sally LaRae (Jones) Selander was welcomed into eternal peace on February 25, 2013. She was born on December 10, 1928 to Raymond and LaVerne (Warenski) Jones in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her family moved to Denver where she met the love of her life, Carl E. Selander. They were married and raised their family in Bear Valley. She was a homemaker with special talents in cooking, knitting, and gardening. She loved antiques and treasure hunting at Goodwill. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Robert Jones. Those surviving her are daughters Susan (Al) DuBois, Kathy (Kevin) Hedderman; grandchildren, Alan (Melissa) DuBois, Andy (Deb) DuBois, Molly, Sally and Keesha Hedderman; one great grandson, Xander DuBois; her brother, Tom (Annette) Jones; many other loving family and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. J. Mark Barnett and the staff at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Longmont, CO. We also thank wonderful friends from the Bureau dinner gang, Garden Club, Sewing Circle, Vi June, Pat Griechen, Jo Bourn, Cheri Weller, and the Romero family, who brought her much joy. Rosary, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 7:00 PM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard Funeral Mass, Friday, 12pm, Notre Dame Catholic Church, 2190 S. Sheridan Blvd. Private interment, Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Because her garden was her paradise on earth, her request was that memorial donations be made to the Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York St., Denver, CO 80206.
