It is with great sadness that the LeRoy family, of Denver, Colorado announces the passing of our beloved and beautiful daughter Sam.
Samantha JoAnn LeRoy, 36, of Denver passed away on February 3, 2021 at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in the arms of both her mother and father.
Sam was born on December 13, 1984, in Denver, Colorado at Rose Medical Center.
She was the daughter of Greg and Lisa LeRoy, stepdaughter to Jonita LeRoy, sister to Alex LeRoy, sister-in-law to Allie LeRoy, beloved Aunt to Colin LeRoy and most importantly mother to her beloved dog Gunther.
Sam is survived by her many loving cousins across the US, her Uncle Joe and Aunt Shirley, Uncle Bobby, Aunt Dawn, Uncle Greg and Aunt Tracy, Aunt Michael Ann, and her Grandmother Barbara Jean Anderson of Omaha, NE. Sam was loved by so many friends from her glorious life that they are too numerous to mention here.
Sam graduated from Good Shephard grade school, Machebeuf Catholic High School, University of Northern Colorado with a BS in Sociology, Colorado State University with her Master’s in Organizational Management, and was finalizing her PHD from the University of the Rockies in Organizational Leadership and Development. All while working full time at Denver Health Hospital.
Sam loved to travel the world and had climbed Kilimanjaro in Africa with her entire extended family and recently presented Clinical papers from her studies and statistical work in Bucharest, Romania and Naples, Italy.
Sam worked tirelessly for equality for the LGBTQ community. Sam was proud to march every year in Denver’s annual Pride Parade and worked to make sure all people were treated fairly and with decency.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 E. 7th Ave. Pkwy Denver, CO 80206. Flowers may be sent to the church, if desired, for the funeral mass.

Sam’s ashes will be spread in her two favorite locations in the world: Laguna Beach, CA and Maui, HI.
