Samira Abdallah Nasser

May 7, 1935 — August 30, 2024

Samira Abdallah Nasser, 89, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on August 30, 2024.

Samira was born on May 7, 1935 to Abdallah Hage Ali and Nahed Jaber in Beirut, Lebanon, the third youngest of seven children. Samira enjoyed a happy childhood with her family. She attended the American School for Girls in Beirut, Lebanon. She married her husband, Hikmat Nasser, at the age of 17 and they went on to have three children. Samira managed the household and raised her children while proudly supporting her husband’s illustrious diplomatic career. Upon her husband’s untimely passing in 1990, she moved to Denver, Colorado to live near her son, Khalil, and his family, where she has resided ever since, though she traveled back to her home country often.

Samira was a bold, resilient and charismatic woman who loved life. She was an incredible mother and grandmother and she fiercely loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family. She was always making those around her laugh and insisted on feeding everyone around the clock. She loved a good social gathering and any excuse to get dressed up. She was known for her iconic sense of fashion, her engaging storytelling and her uncanny matchmaking abilities. Samira was greatly admired in her community, both in Denver and in Lebanon, and had an abundance of friends and loved ones who are deeply saddened by her passing.

Samira was preceded in death by her parents, Abdallah Hage Ali and Nahed Jaber; her husband, Hikmat Nasser; and her six brothers and sisters, Ghaleb Hage Ali, Moukhtar Hage Ali, Adel Hage Ali, Fatima Hage Ali, Bahia Hamed, and Fadwa Khayat. She is survived by her three children, Najwa Cassier (Bernard), Roula Nasser, and Khalil Nasser; her seven grandchildren, Amer Cassier (Elizabeth), Nael Cassier, Dima Raine (Paul), Hadi Cassier (Mira), Sarah Sourial (Joshua), Nyla Zackroff (Nathan), and Noura Khayat (Mireya); and her seven great grandchildren, Sabine Raine, Laith Raine, Lilia Raine, Leo Sourial, Raphael Cassier, Elias Sourial, and Olivia Sourial.

Samira’s wish was to be buried in the family cemetery in Lebanon, next to her beloved husband. As such, funeral services will be held in Lebanon. Those in Colorado wishing to pay their respects will be invited to a reception hosted by the family; arrangements are in progress and details will be announced as soon as possible.
