Samuel G. Cordova, age 85, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. He was born October 26, 1934 in Mora, New Mexico, and moved to southwest Denver as a child. He attended Westwood Elementary and graduated from West High School. On May 01, 1955 Samuel married Dorothy Duran in Denver Colorado. He worked as a Precision Machinist until retiring in 1992 .
From 1953 to 1957 Samuel served proudly in the United States Air Force. After Communications Infrastructure training at FE Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne Wyoming, he served in Europe where he installed Radio Communication Towers, first in Paris, France then in Ramstein, Germany and was Honorably Discharged.
Living life to the fullest was how Samuel lived. He loved spending as much time as possible with his immediate family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed traveling with his family on road trips across the United States. He was loved greatly and respected by all who knew him.
Samuel is predeceased by his father, Sam Cordova and his mother, Elsie (Gonzales) Cordova and is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Mae Cordova, their sons, Louis Cordova, Leroy Cordova, Charles Cordova (deceased), Raymond Cordova and his wife Mercy, and their daughter Lorraine Manzanares and her husband Mark. Grandchildren: Petra Cordova, Raymond Cordova, Jr., Charles Cordova Jr., Joseph Cordova, Joshua Manzanares, and Alexis Manzanares. Great Grandchildren: Xavier Fonseca, Nathaniel Fonseca, Joe Fonseca, Oceana Fonseca, Viviana Cordova, and Marcus Hernandez. Siblings: Lubelle Bustos (Santa Fe, New Mexico) and her husband Gabriel Bustos (deceased), Leo Cordova (deceased) and his wife Susie (Denver, Colorado), Mary Miller (Sarasota, Florida) and her husband Joel (deceased), Dan Cordova and his wife Lupe (Rio Rancho, New Mexico), and Ivan Cordova (deceased). Samuel is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and close friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227
Interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave., Denver, CO 80236
Viewing: 10:00 am — 12:00 pm, Rosary: 12:30 pm, Vigil Service: 1:00 pm, Interment: 02:30 pm
Due to social distancing requirements, face masks are required. Attendance to the Rosary, Mass and Interment services is limited. There is not a limit during the viewing where you can view, greet the family, then exit the mortuary. Please sign the online guestbook..
