Samuel Newmyer

November 4, 1987 — February 23, 2022

Samuel Hughes Newmyer (34), passed away peacefully in Denver, CO, on February 23, 2022, surrounded by his wife, Carrie, and family who loved him immensely. He was born on November 4, 1987, and raised by his loving parents, Paul and Donna Newmyer. Sam was an incredible son, brother, uncle, and friend, but no other role made him happier than being a devoted husband, and father to almost two-year-old Cole.

Throughout his childhood and into adulthood, Sam had a unique way of bringing people together. He had a profound love for the people in his life and was always eager to gather for a good time, whether that was winning foosball and ping pong tournaments or attending summer concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheater. He had a true affinity for Eminem, hip-hop, and rap music.

Growing up, Sam excelled in many sports, including football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. His fierce competitiveness and drive led him to become an All-Star lacrosse player. He graduated from Mullen High School in 2006 and went on to find his place at Colorado State University. It was there that his love story with Carrie began. She fell in love with his witty sense of humor, and he was immediately drawn to her caring, loving nature. They got married in February 2016 and expanded their family with Bella, a chocolate lab who served as a loyal companion from the day she was brought home. And then, in March of 2020, they welcomed Cole, their miracle baby.

Sam had many talents and interests, including construction management, personal training, and real estate. Over the last eight years, he worked alongside his dad at Newmyer Contracting, building custom homes. Sam was inspired by the work he did with his father, cherishing the moments they spent together and learning from him each and every day. In more recent years, Sam found a passion for golf, hitting the links every chance he could get, and ultimately achieving a hole in one. When he wasn’t golfing, he could be found crafting custom wood pieces, skateboarding with Bella, having a glass of wine and a cigar by the firepit with Carrie, or making Cole laugh with his silly accents and tickles.

Sam was a kind, loving, and an all-around beautiful person. He leaves behind his immediate family Carrie, Cole, and Bella; his parents Paul and Donna Newmyer; his brother Judson (Carly) Newmyer and sister Kent (Ariel) Rosemberg; his nephews Miles and Noah; and countless close friends.

A memorial service for Sam will be held on Friday, March 11th at 11:00am at Abiding Hope Church in Littleton, CO.
