Sandra Jean Arellano, age 50, passed away on March 21st, 2021 at 1:24 AM. She was surrounded by her husband Dion Arellano, her two sons Tyler and Mason and her daughter Alexandra at University of Colorado Hospital. She was a graduate of the class 1989 Heritage High School, located in Littleton Colorado. She attended school at the University of Colorado at Denver and met her Husband Dion Arellano while in college. She went on to work in the newspaper industry, starting at the Denver Post. She pursued her career there for 18 years. After leaving there and working for three other printing companies, she found a home with her last employer Brainworks Media Software Solutions as a project manager. Her passion for work and drive to succeed, gave her the strength to work up until the Friday before her death in ICU.
Sandy loved to spend time with her family. Traveling, golfing, and playing games were just a few of her favorite things to do with them. She especially loved cuddling on the couch with her husband and kids while watching movies.
She is survived by her mother Avelina Farrell, husband Dion, her son Tyler (of Reno, Nevada), her daughter Alexandra, and her youngest son Mason. She is also survived by her three sisters Barbara Miller, Janine Zydzik, Valerie Lynn-Goin, along with their husbands, their children, and grandkids. In addition she is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Sandy's legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone she loved and interacted with. Her magnetic personality made it so she never met a stranger. A visitation will be held in memory of Sandy on March 30th at 6 PM with a Rosary following at 7 PM at Horan & McConaty. They are located at 5303 East County Line Road (West of Holly Street), Centennial, Colorado 80122. Due to COVID restrictions Sandy's funeral will be limited only to immediate family at Mother of God Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday March 31st at 10AM. We will bury her at the Littleton Cemetery at 12:00 PM after her funeral service. It is located at 6155 South Prince Street, Littleton Colorado 80120. A reception will follow at Evelyn Farrell's house that afternoon, everyone is welcome to come and celebrate her life. Her address is 3272 South Quintero Street, Aurora, Colorado 80013.
