Sandra Janet Phipps Dennehy, age 75 died of complications from pneumonia on May 29, 2015. She was born September 10, 1939 in Denver Colorado and was the daughter of Janet Alice Smith Phipps and Gerald Hughes Phipps. Mrs Dennehy is survived by her husband Wilson Dennehy, sisters Karen P. Sass and Marta P. Talman and three children Elizabeth Dennehy Bunker, Michael W. Dennehy, Charles L. Dennehy and five grandchildren. Sandy was an avid horsewoman who qualified for the National Horse Show on numerous occasions. She won National Horse of The Year and was inducted into the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame. Along with her husband and children she owned the Arapahoe Riding Club where she shared her love of horses with the community for over 50 years. She was a loving wife and mother who cherished her family. In addition to her love of horses and family she was a devoted Denver Broncos fan from the beginning. Services will be held on Monday, June 29th, 1pm at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, 1350 Washington St., Denver, CO. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts a donation be made to charity with a note in memory of Sandy Dennehy.
