Sandra Jean Trenka (Sandi) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 4th, 2024, at the age of 86. She now joins her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Trenka, in heaven, whom she dearly missed since his passing in 2004.
Sandi is survived by her three children: her eldest son, Mark, and his wife, Erin, along with their two daughters, Lauren and Sarah; her daughter, Pam, and her husband, Sam, along with their two sons, Robert and Jacob; and her youngest son, Matthew, and his wife, Melissa, along with their two sons, Michael and Mitchell. Sandi took great joy in spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness.
Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Sandi grew up with her parents, John and Julie Olsen, and her sisters, Audrey and Joan. After attending and graduating from Valparaiso University in Indiana, where she met the love of her life, Bob, they started their family together. Following the birth of their first two children, Mark and Pam, Sandi and Bob moved to Littleton, Colorado, before settling in Boulder, where their youngest son, Matt, was born. They made Boulder their home for the next 30 years, raising their family and serving their community.
Sandi began her career as a teacher, a role she cherished in her early years. She later chose to dedicate her time to raising her three children. As they grew older, Sandi took on a new challenge at the University of Colorado, working in Admissions and eventually becoming the Athletic Eligibility Coordinator. She retired from CU in 2002 but embarked on a new career in real estate, obtaining her license and working alongside Bob at Trenka & Associates Real Estate in Denver. Sandi officially retired in 2019 to focus on spending time with her family, which she loved dearly.
Sandi will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her warmth, love, and dedication to her family will be forever cherished by her children, grandchildren, and those whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Berkley Hospice, 10697 E. Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014, or to the Alzheimer’s Association online at www.alz.org.
