Sandra Annette (Moon) Scharringhausen, 84, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on November 24, 2020. She was born to Neil Donald Moon and Vona Yvonne Bedford Moon in Bar Harbor, Maine on October 4, 1936.
Following high school Sandy went on to marry the love of her life, Walter Allen Scharringhausen. She was a self-employed tailor in the 1960’s and a payroll manager in the 1970’s before becoming a registered nurse and working in hospice care. Sandy had many hobbies including painting, sculpting, and drawing. She also loved to write short stories and poetry.
Sandy was a hardworking, God-fearing, strong willed woman who loved her family and pets. She and Walter became active members at All Saints Lutheran Church in 1990. Sandy supported many charities but most of all her church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Scharringhausen and sister Karen Neville. Sandy is survived by her husband Walter; daughters, Valerie Nielsen, Julie and her husband Allan McIntosh; grandchildren, Logan and Kyle McIntosh and Erik Nielsen.
Please join the family for a visitation on Tuesday, December 1st from 2-4pm at the Horan & McConaty chapel located at 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 5th at 11am. Masks and social distancing will be required.
