In light of recent health advisories, Sandyâs celebration of life has been postponed until a later date. When her service is able to be rescheduled updated information will be placed below. In the meantime, please continue to share memories, stories, and photos with her family.

Born October 29, 1949, Sandy Davidson died at noon on January 14, 2020. There at her passing were her family and friends. The hospice TRU at Longmont United Hospital was extraordinary in their care for her. She was married for 49 years to Bruce Allen.
Coming from a science family, Sandy followed that direction. Her grandfather taught chemistry at Kansas University; her father was an engineer at Martin Marietta. She attended CSU on scholarship. Achieving an MS, Sandy taught sciences at West Jefferson Middle School in Conifer, Colorado, commuting every day for 17 years from Louisville.
Her sons followed the science line: David Zachary is a senior (electrical) engineer, and her younger son Jeremy is a water resource planner. She read widely and offered excellent book suggestions to us. Sandy was happiest when with her sons' families, especially the grandsons, Asher, Caden, and Will. They always had Halloween costumes she made for them. She found so many things for them to learn by: trains, legos, gardens, microscopes, skis, fish in the pond, tadpoles in the aquarium, and books.
Her love was nature. Her car license plate said, ""Protect the Rivers."" She canoed in Colorado and kayaked here as well as the inlet on the Kenai Peninsula. She saw salmon spawn on the Taiya River; her boat trip took her to the humpback whales rising in Alaska's Glacier Bay. From her youth to the present day, Sandy thought of South Park, Colorado, as another home. Her love of Native American cultures probably led to her skill with the bow. She gave money to many nature preservation organizations.
A few of her paintings will be displayed at her service. Sandy attended art classes up to the very last. She also gifted us with clay sculptures.
Sandy's friends were lifeblood to her as well. Shortly before she passed, she received a CD for her contribution to Public Television. It was the concert, ""Woodstock."" We hope to honor her love of that era by playing a few pieces by musicians from that time at her service.
The following organizations would be grateful for donations made in her name:
Ocean Conservancy
Natural Resources Defense Council
Nature Conservancy
World Wildlife Fund
World Wildlife Federation
Audubon Society
American Society for the Defense of Animals
The Humane Society of Boulder
