Sara Rosemary (Hobday) Fulghum

With heavy hearts, we acknowledge the loss of Sara Rosemary (Hobday) Fulghum, 62, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, who passed away on April 14, 2024. Sara was diagnosed in late December with an advanced form of pancreatic cancer for which there was no cure. Sara faced her diagnosis bravely with her husband, Barry Fulghum, at her side until the very end.

Sara was born October 12, 1961 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of Elaine S. Hobday and Laurence Richard (Dick) Hobday, both deceased. She lived the majority of her life in the Denver Metro Area having graduated from Westminster High School in 1979. After graduation, Sara worked primarily in the food service industry, where she met her husband whom she married on February 22, 2003. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and animal lover who enjoyed taking care of her home and family, planting flowers, cooking, volunteering at a local hospital, and never forgetting a birthday, anniversary, or other important occasion with a card from the local Hallmark store. She was fun-loving, kind, and cherished her life, family, and friends. Sara was loved beyond measure by her family. Know that she left us with countless memories that we will hold dear in our hearts.

Sara is survived by her husband of 21 years, Barry Fulghum; her beloved pets, Hooch and Polly; her brother-in-law Kip Fulghum and his wife, Karen, of Colorado Springs, CO and their son, Brian Fulghum; her brother, Kerry A. Hobday and his wife, Cynthia, of Arvada, CO, their son, Aram A. Hobday, his wife, Aracely and their children, Eloise and Julien Hobday all of Arvada, CO; her sisters, Christine L. (Hobday) Schell of Gering, NE, and Anne E. Hobday of Westminster, CO, as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews living in Colorado, New York, and Connecticut.

In addition to her parents, Sara is preceded in death by her brothers, Paul C. Hobday, Laurence (Larry) T. Hobday, and her brother-in-law, Tim Schell, formerly of Nebraska; and her beloved pet, Chip.

A Memorial service is planned for Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 11a.m. at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO  80122.
