Born in Boston, MA. February 15, 1921, of Irish immigrant parents, James & Catherine Gaffney. She served in the Womens Army Corps during WWII. Trained as a medical technician at Beaumont Hospital in El Paso, TX, she assisted in rehabilitation of American prisoners of war returning from German prison camps. In November, 1946, she was among the first group of military women to go into occupied Japan. In April, 1949, she married Vinton Guy, whom she met while stationed in Tokyo. She retired from service as a staffing specialist with the Federal Government in 1984. She was an active volunteer for St. Joseph Hospital, Notre Dame Catholic Church, American Legion, WAC Chapter 76 and Denver Irish Parade Committee. She is survived her husband, many nieces and nephews and cherished friends. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 10:00am at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 2190 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80219. Interment to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80235.
