Sarah Holland of Denver, Colorado died at age 95. Born on a farm in Iowa, Sarah was a remarkably cheerful and optimistic person, receiving the Golden Heart Award from the American Lutheran Church in 1986. Although she had a masterâs degree in English, she loved teaching kindergarten children, cooking âgreen eggs and hamâ with them and providing adventurous play with everything from giant tinkertoys to inflatable rafts with paddles. For her, life was always an adventure' whether an around the world trip, meeting up with her sister to ride the Orient Express in her late 70s, or an alley walk with Denverâs Unsinkables. Widow of Dr. Erick M. Holland (former high school principal), she is survived by three sons and three grandchildren. Join us in remembering and celebrating her life from 1-3 pm on Friday August 4th in the fellowship hall of Christ the King Lutheran Church at 2300 S. Patton Court in Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations may be made to the Denver Teacherâs Club.
