Sarah Montoya, age 85, passed away in Denver Colorado where she resided, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019. Sarah was born June 25th, 1933 in El Carmen, New Mexico to Nazario Sandoval and Soraida Aragon Sandoval. Sarah was one of nine children which included six sisters and two brothers. Sarah moved to Rawlins Wyoming in 1951. She had three beautiful daughters and a loving husband, Fermin that she married February 21st, 1960. In 1970, Sarah and her family moved to Denver Colorado where she resided on South Irving Street.
Sarah enjoyed her family get togethers, music, dancing and shopping. She took pride in her appearance and loved getting her hair done, dressing up, beautiful jewelry and beautiful nails polished by her granddaughters. She loved to dance, especially to her favorite Mexican music and going to the fiestas. Sarah loved her family and always looked forward to spending time with them. She would express how she had the most beautiful grandchildren! But most importantly Sarah expressed her love for the Lord. She attended St. Anthony of Padua for many years and enjoyed listening to her favorite song, Amazing Grace.
Sarah is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years Fermin Montoya; daughters Linda Salgado, Joyce (George) Trujillo and Wilma (Dale) Springer; grandchildren Diane and Craig Peterson, Renee Bustos, Richard Medina, Antionette Valdez, Leslie and Joe Montoya, Gilbert and Gloria Salazar, Sara and Bo Warner, Brandon and Annie Springer, Bryan Springer, Nadine Ramirez; great-grandchildren Jasmine, Kayla, Robyn, Paige, Ricky, Miriah, Lilyanna, K'Dee, Alicia, Nevaeh, Olivia and Quentin; great-great grandchildren A.J., C.J. and Sebastian; sisters Nora Campos, Lucille Trujillo, Elizabeth Vigil; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters Flora, Feloniz and Mary; two brothers Pat and Frank.
Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony's of Padua, 3801 W Ohio Ave Denver Colorado, Tuesday March 12th, 2019, 10:00 a.m., followed by committal at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery 12801 W. 44th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. A reception will follow the committal at St. Anthonyâs of Padua.
